DOH Sets May 8 for Bethel Road Bridge Meeting

CHARLESTON-Proposed construction of the Bethel Road Bridge will be the subject of an informational public meeting by the Division of Highways Tuesday, May 8, in the auditorium of Blennerhassett Jr. High School on Jewell Road off WV 892.

Scheduled in a workshop format from 4 to 7 p.m., the meeting will allow participants to ask questions and state their opinions on the advantages and disadvantages of three build alternatives under study to carry Wood County 892/4 over proposed Corridor D (US 50). Estimated to cost $2 million and impact up to six residences, the alternatives would begin at Cummins Street in Bethel Heights and end at either Laurel Street, Franklin Street or Jewell Road. Highways officials will present information on the proposal and receive public input.

Written comments should be sent to Jim Sothen P.E., Director, Engineering Division, Division of Highways, Capitol Complex Building 5, 1900 Kanawha Boulevard East, Charleston, West Virginia 25305-0430 on or before May 21, 2001.
