9/8/05 - BELPRE - A public meeting will be held next Thursday to discuss future blasting on the U.S. 50 Corridor D approach project.
The Ohio Department of Transportation District 10 will hold the meeting 7 p.m. at the St. Ambrose Catholic Church at 5080 School House Road near Belpre.
The Ohio roadway portion of the Corridor D project was awarded in April 2005 to Kokosing Construction at an estimated cost of $21.4 million.
ODOT, its general contractor Kokosing Construction Co., subcontractors and independent blasting specialists will be available to describe anticipated drilling and blasting operations and to answer questions about blasing activities on the U.S. 50 project.
The project is expected to be completed by September 2007.
The ODOT announced Wednesday the U.S. 50 exit ramp to Ohio 339 will be closed beginning Monday to allow for a new ramp construction associated with the Ohio approach to the Corridor D bridge.
Eastbound motorists are advised to travel state Route 618 for approximately 1.3 miles then left onto state Route 339. Westbound traffic will remain unaffected.
The work is scheduled to be completed by late November.
