Shift in traffic pattern on WV Rt. 68

Parkersburg , WV West Virginia Division of Highways, District Three, has announced a planned shift in the traffic pattern for motorists traveling northbound on WV Rt. 68 (new US 50), according to George Shinsky , District Three Construction Engineer.

“The first phase will be to shift the eastbound traffic to the newly constructed portion of US 50 (WV Rt. 68) on Monday, January 5, 2004 , weather permitting.” said Shinsky.

Upon completion of the first phase on Monday morning, crews will begin resetting the concrete barricades and relocating the traffic signal to the newly constructed lanes. This is expected to take the remainder of the week.

“We will be making frequent updates to provide the public with additional details regarding how this will affect residents and local travel.” said Shinsky.
